Love Dim Sum! Especially when you have to eat it in a hustling and bustling coffee shop. This particular one, Old Friend Dim Sum near my sister's place is really a busy one on weekend mornings.
Ahhh....my sister's plate of Fried Carrot Cake, but seeing there were so much bean sprout on it, i decided to give it a go. Mark her words, this plate is very saliva-inducing one, and is made to order so it's still really warm when it landed on our table.
Surely we cannot miss out on Cheong Fun! Made to mimic and named after intestines, this silky smooth dish is normally stuffed with meat such as prawn, char siew or chicken.
This is my favourite dish of the day. Prawns wrapped in noodles. It's really a brilliant idea, with the chewiness of the noodles encassing the succulent prawns. There is a touch of thoughtfulness where there are bits of egg in the gravy.
Can't remember what this is, but i think it's Ginger Chicken wrapped in Bean Curd. Suddenly i was thinking, having Dim Sum is somewhat akin to having Tapas!
Dim Sum is not just merely restricted to steamed and braised items, there are also fried items, like this piece of Fried Bean Curd with Mayonnaise. It's always nice to mix it up with a wide variety, especially if you come in large crowd.
Ahhhh...Har Gau! I like it when Har Gaus are made with very thin wrapping and the prawns within are chewy and moist. MmmmMMMmmmmm.....
