Riverdance, Marina Bay Sands

The casino in the city finally opened its doors in 2010. However, the place was not fully opened, and many structures were still under construction. Even when i finally made it for a visit there in December 2010, it still looked semi complete. This photo was taken right near the F1 grandstand, before crossing over the Marina Bay Sands.

Ahhh, the famous 'DNA Double Helix' bridge.

We strolled about for awhile at the Shoppes @ Marina Bay. Most of the shops are very upmarket and expensive. The skating rink was also just open when i visited. The crowd there is always mostly foreign. Not the kind of place i will go for a weekend spot of shopping.

My friends and I were actually there to catch Riverdance at the Sands Theater. Riverdance is a well-known Irish stepdancing performance which i have come to know during my Uni days. This was their 2nd time in Singapore and of course i had to jump into the opportunity to watch them. It was worth every penny.

The Sands Theater is a little cramped, and the seats are too close together. The Esplanade theaters are more to my liking. No photography was allowed during the performance, but i doubt i could've taken any decent ones with the swift movements of the dancers.
