Mayim At West Mall

The girls ( 5 of us) had a dinner gathering to celebrate Anna's birthday. We were game for a Chinese meal at Mayim in West mall. We love its extensive menu with countless choices and variety.

Tze Ching was already dying from hunger so she ordered a light, nutritious double-boiled soup to kick off her meal. I tried a sip, and realised that this soup boasts a wonderful stock that proves to be a delight to savour. Yummy!

This is my 'Sou Mei' tea with wolfberry. Good tea, but hate the cup it came in. It looked like some cheapo glassware bought from a neighbourhood sundry shop and when you put the filter down too fast, the hot water within overflows....really clumsy design.

While Tze Ching went for nutritious chinese soup, i ordered a Japanese Teapot soup. This mushroom light soup comes in a teapot and you can pour it into the teacup to enjoy. This soup certainly has my stamp of approval.

This special looking green dish is 'Golden Fried Mashed Tofu with Pork topped with Avocado Cream'. The avocado cream is sweet and richly flavoured. The quality of this dish is not compromised, but a word of advise is that you should consume this fast before the Avocado cream becomes warm and melts.

The other girls also ordered 'Golden Shrimp coated with Mayonnaise Sauce'. The prawns are delicious, with the sauce complementing it well.

This adorable looking dish is 'Sweet & Sour Pork served in Dragonfruit'. It actually looked much better in the menu, so this came as a real letdown. The pork also didn't taste as good as it should, just sourish and tough.

And lastly, 'Fried Rice with Diced Scallop, Shrimp & Egg White' to fill up our stomach. The rice is fragrant, with the shrimps bouncy. Rounded of with the rest of the dishes, we had a jolly good time that night.
