Tung Lok Seafood Ala Carte Buffet (Part 1)

It was a crazy Sunday brunch. We booked ourselves into this famous Tung Lok Seafood ala carte buffet. We had such a great time and a happier stomach feasting at the Orchard Central branch. Service was terrible though, because the restaurant was overbooked and the staff were busy.

Kicked off the meal with a Seafood Salad with Mixed Fruit. It was the dream start to a perfect meal. A fantastic way to start our brunch. At this restaurant, we could basically order everything we want from an extensive ala carte menu.

We ordered two servings of this Crispy Fish Skin with Salted Egg Yolk. The crunch when we sunk our teeth into this goodie was audible. Although i don't particularly like salted egg, the two element actually went well together.

Oh yeahhhh....Poached Baby Kailan served with Chincalok. The chincalok was bursting with flavour. God i miss it, haven't tasted it for ages. I love how this restaurant plays with the flavours and try to make each and every dish stand out.

Century eggs with pickled ginger. Either you love this or you hate this.

Crispy Prawn Paste Chicken Wing : It came hot and crunchy with a nice aroma. Just the way we all like it.

Crispy Stuffed Dough Fritters served with Mayonnaise. Muacks, a smack on the lips for this. And on the far right was something i didn't bother trying - Crispy Eggplant with Pork Floss. Well, my friends heaped praises on this dish, but i simply hate eggplants. Enough said.

Mini Eggtarts they served were such a disappointment. The pastry was not crunchy and basically tasteless. The custard was bland and the whole feel was just wrong.

On the right is the California Maki while on the left is Jelly Fish with Garlic in Spicy Sauce. These two dishes were pretty normal, nothing to shout about so i'll go on to the next dish.

Wahhh...we ordered two servings of this as well. The Salmon Sashimi was so fresh and the restaurant is pretty generous with the portioning too.

This was another of the good dishes on the menu - Appetising Salmon Salad wrapped in Pancake. The novelty is there, plus this tastes good!

Carrot cake anyone? Too much taugeh for my liking but my friends couldn't stop gushing about this, nevertheless. Actually, it didn't taste half bad... we ordered a second serving as well~

Ahhh...one of the very special dishes of the day : Crisp Fried Shredded Cuttlefish Glazed with Honey and Black Pepper. Believe it or not, when i turned the plate upside down, all the sotongs stay stuck to the plate! Hahahahahahaha.... this dish made me so confused, cos when i put one in my mouth, it tasted both very sweet and spicy at the same time. My friends didn't enjoy this as much as i did though :(
