Kinsahi Japanese Restaurant ( Johor Bahru)

One of the weekends we went to JB to attend a friend's home wedding dinner. We went in early afternoon and had a stroll at Sutera Mall. Just before our Karaoke session, we just needed to fill our tummies. Kinsahi Japanese Restaurant was the place suggested by local boy, Gary.

Nice interior decoration. This place and its menu makes me reminisce of Singapore's Sushi Tei.

There you go, my car/sushi/karaoke kakis for the day : Sixian and Gary!

This appetiser of Egg Wasabi Mayo comes as soon as we were seated. Quite a different appetisers than the ones you get in other restaurants. Generally tasted quite alright, especially with egg bits.

Wow, check out their Nameko Chawanmushi, which came bursting with mushrooms on the top and egg goodies at the bottom. I really love their version of chawanmushi especially the mini mushrooms and how juicy they were the moment you chewed onto them.

Gary's Salmon Handroll. He was so hungry he almost swallowed it and choked himself...haha...

Wah...lip-smacking Salmon Belly Sashimi! I only had a piece in fear of getting stomach upset out of Singapore. Honestly, the sashimi was full of zing! Yeah... great presentation too~

We ordered a small plate of Agedashitofu to share as well. The crispy tofu, along with the soya sauce was enticing. A great accompaniment for our meal.

OK, i confess, i cannot remember what this is, anyway this was one of the dishes that faded away from my memory because it paled in comparison with the rest, except that cute Baby Yaya was nearby....haha...

This is the exact replica of Mango Roll from Sushi Tei. Like Sushi Tei's, this mango sushi is fit for a king! Whoever thought of wrapping sweet mango around a lump of rice? Simply a stroke of genius!
